Solspark's management team brings a wealth of experience and expertise in youth marketing,
banking, card technology, networking and online communities and services.
Scott H. Galit CEO and Founder
As Chief Executive Officer, Scott Galit leads the Solspark team. Prior to starting Solspark, Mr. Galit founded the
Internet Banking Group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he worked with many of today's leading Internet
companies, including eBay, Priceline.com and Media Metrix. Previously, Mr. Galit served as president of NetSync,
an Internet software company, which he successfully sold in 1997. Mr. Galit graduated from the University of Virginia's
honors program.
As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Jeanne Whalen is responsible for developing strategic marketing and
branding programs and providing marketing strategy services to Solspark clients. Ms. Whalen joins Solspark
Inc. with years of experience in marketing and marketing communications, with an emphasis on the Internet
industry. Jeanne spent almost six years in marketing at America Online where she was Senior Manager of
Special Projects, overseeing the development and implementation of member acquisition marketing programs.
Most recently, Ms. Whalen served as Director of Marketing for Hachette Filipacchi's Custom Publishing Division.
Ms. Whalen earned a B.A. in Communications from the University of Maryland.
In her role as Vice President of Financial Institutions, Karen Urban oversees Solspark's strategy as well as day-to-day
interaction with financial institutions. Ms. Urban joined Solspark Inc. from Mitchell Madison Group, where she served as
senior manager responsible for promoting and managing consulting services for the credit card industry. Ms. Urban
also developed market strategy and implementation plans for major credit card companies, including First USA and
American Express. Earlier in her career, Ms. Urban served as Director of Global Information Services at MasterCard,
as well as an IT professional at Andersen Consulting. Ms. Urban earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Computer
Science from Lafayette College and an MBA from
Columbia Business School.
As Vice President of Technology, Mr. Vanni has led the design and development of the company's entire platform,
including the public website, transaction processing platform and interfaces to external financial systems. In addition,
Mr. Vanni oversees the development and management of the company's systems development process and the
corporate IT infrastructure. Prior to joining Solspark, Mr. Vanni was the Branch Manager of the New York office of
Spectrum Technology. Under his direction, his office designed systems and applications for financial institutions, including
American Express, and other Fortune 100 clients. Mr. Vanni holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of Virginia.
Mary Ashton is responsible for customer service functionality and management as well as production and fulfillment.
Previously, M.A. led the development of the prescription fulfillment and customer service capabilities as Director of
Operations at yourPharmacy.com (prior to the company's purchase by PlanetRx.com). Before moving into the realm
of e-commerce, she served as Senior Manager of Business Development at Sprint PCS, and she began her career with
KPMG Peat Marwick, where she provided expertise in a variety of IT and Operations Improvement engagements. M.A.
graduated from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and the University of Virginia
(B.S., Systems Engineering).
As Director of CMQA/Production, Margie leads the Quality Assurance Department and is responsible
for managing the overall Quality Assurance and Configuration Management processes. In addition, she
oversees the production process and acts as a liaison between Solspark’s Creative and Technology
departments. Ms Goodwin joins Solspark with 9 years experience in the Quality Assurance field and
comes from Nettech Systems Inc. where she was the QA Manager responsible for creating the Quality
Assurance Department and developing all quality assurance processes. Margie is a graduate from the
Chubb Institute for Computer Programming.
Deoraj's responsibilities cover a wide spectrum, including but not limited to, enterprise software architecture and design. In his previous role at Spectrum Technology, Deoraj served as technical architect and project manager, working on a number of projects that made use of distributed processing in a multi-tier environment, including distributed web environments. He was responsible for the successful management and development of key applications for American Express’s Corporate Purchasing Card. His expertise played a critical role in the success of a number of high profile, global and local projects for Fortune 100 companies. Deoraj holds a B.S and M.S in Computer Science from the University of Windsor. |
